Sea Trout and Other Fishing Studies. By J. C. Mottram. (Field Press. 6s. net.) The chapters on dry fly fishing for sea trout would show, if one did not know it, that Mr. Mottram is an old hand at the game, and that he can impart its secrets so far as they are communicable. But anglers will find the unpretentious little book well worth reading from end to end. Mr. Mottram writes clearly and gives some useful diagrams. He is inter- ested, too, in all that pertains to fishing. Witness his chapters on water flies, water and the influence of temperature on trout.
