FESTIVAL. By Struthers Burt. (Peter Davies. 7s. 6d.)— Dorn Griffiths
retired from banking in Philadelphia and hoped, he said, " to plant a garden." But his daughter, married to an Italian Prince, was unhappy, and she and his ambitious wife kept him busy. Mr. Burt's plot is a little arbitrary, but his appraisal of modern America is penetrating and without malice.
