THE CHURCH IN SOUTH-WEST AFRICA. [To the Editor of the
SPECTATOR.] Sm,—May I, through your columns, call the attention of your readers to a meeting to be held at the Mansion House on Friday, November 3rd ? The meeting is being held to promote interest in the spiritual and educational work of the English Church in South-West Africa, the former German Colony of South-West Africa. The fact that the Lord Mayor has kindly promised to preside and two such statesmen as Lords Buxton and Milner have promised to speak shows the importance of the work. An effort is being made to raise the sum of £30,000, to be divided between the spiritual and educational sides of our work. The needs of the Church in this new country should appeal to people in England. The need of Church schools is a very pressing one. Cheques should be made payable to South-West Africa Church Fund and crossed Standard Bank of South Africa, and sent to me at the Colonial Institute, Northumberland House,—I am, Sir, &c.,
_ N. W. FOG ARTY,
October 25th. Vicar-General and Archdeacon.
