BOOKS ON THE TABLE.

1. A new project has been started, called the Library of Ro- mance : the object seems to be to condense new novels into one volume, and charge a proportionate price. It will be most conso- latory to writers to hear, as is stated in the preface, that they will be paid immediately, in bank-notes, for any thing that is accepted. The critic-judge is Mr. LEITCH RITCHIE. The first volume is by Mr. BANIM, called the Ghost Hunter ; the second that is to be, is by the Editor, who has passed a favourable judgment on hikown Work.
