It should be enough to say of Mary's Meadow, by

Juliana Horatia Ewing (S.P.C.K.), that it was the last serial story which Mrs. Ewing wrote. This fact gives a new, though a melancholy interest to the sprightly, kindly humour, with which it seems impossible to associate the idea of death. We may add that its chief topic is gardening, and that it is pleasantly illustrated by Gordon Browne.
