Lord Oxford very . naturally pointed out that the criticism

of the Government which Mr. 'Lloyd deorge desired was fully contained in his speech in the House of Lords. Lord Oxford sums up by saying that Mr. Lloyd George's refusal to attend the meeting on May 10th could not possibly be reconciled " with my conception of the obligations of political comradeship." Finally he refers to the article by Mr. Lloyd George in an American newspaper which contained " desponding though highly coloured pictures of our national straits," and deplores the fact that such a presentation of the case " should have been offered to the outside world by an ex-Prime Minister of Great Britain."
