Last week Gunnersbury Park, Acton, which for more than a
hundred years was in the possession of the Rothschild family, was opened as a public park. It is a very notable addition to the public open spaces round London. It is two hundred acres in extent is beautifully laid out, and commands lovely views. Horace Walpole described it before a Rothschild went to live there. It was bought by the Boroughs of Acton and Ealing from Mrs. Leopold de Rothschild, who generously sold it for very much less than she could have obtained elsewhere.
