ORCHESTRAL SIZES
SIR,---David Cairns has once again hit the nail on the head. The orchestra at Sadler's Wells is a blot on the generally high standards of the company. Somehow, more money must be made available to the management so that more players may he en- gaged and the quality improved. The present position
is unfair to the conductors, the singers and the orchestra itself and vitiates the great efforts which have clearly been de1oted to the creation of a first- class company with an extensive and imaginative repertoire.
