Waugh bash
Sir: I would like to think that LtCol A. N. Skinner is completely and utterly alone in his sentiments concerning Auberon Waugh's choice of books for review (Letters. Novembei 18).
I find several of his comments not only dogmatic and narrowminded but also downright offensive. It is this sort of uneducated criticism which gives pornography a bad name — there is much to be said for a good bit of smut.
Also, if he finds all graffiti, vulgar and filthy,' then I can only say that he is visiting the wrong public loos.
I would also like to know on what statistical evidence he bases his noun 'majority ".
I hope there is no law against defecation of character!
