Ishmael Loxes. By Richard Pardoe. (S.P.C.K.)—This "story of adventure" tells
how a workman in the Black Country, getting himself mixed up with Socialists, Anarchists, or Nihilists—it is not quite clear which, but they are busy with making bombs— falls into great trouble. Meanwhile his wife and child have troubles of their own, for the bread-winner's departure has left them nearly destitute. How it all ends the reader may not un- profitably find out for himself.
