OXFORD AND SQUIRRELS.

The group of young biologists at Oxford who are investi- gating the" periodicity " of our wild marrunals are particularly anxious to have information about squirrels, brown or grey. Especially they want to know whether any dead or diseased squirrels have been found, with particulars. Their question- naire contains also the following : are red squirrels or grey squirrels more or less numerous in your neighbourhood ? Have you any observation of any damage done by either species to plants, animals or birds ? Any information (with special emphasis on squirrels and field voles) about any of the rodents should be sent to A. D. Middleton, Department of Zoology, University Museum, Oxford.
