The appearance of Complete Contract Bridge (Putnam, 5s.) will be

welcomed by all players of bridge. It is the sanest exposition yet published, and we are glad to see that the author, Mr. Milton C. Work, does not recommend the Vanderbilt and other artificial conventions. Mr. Work is certainly-justified in his hope that the book presents the simplest contract system yet devised. * * * *
