Precious space

Sir: Regarding Ivor Davies's letter (19 October) as to why if I'm not an anti- Semite I always refer only to Jews who are 'boring, vulgar, brash, arrogant, dishonest, disreputable, cowardly and ugly?', it is because I know far too many Jews who are exciting, elegant, reserved, unassuming, trustworthy, principled, brave, and good- looking. Space, after all, is precious.
