Lord John Russell has :caned the usual notification to Lords-Lieu-
tenant of Counties that the inspection of Yeomanry Regiments by Field-officers will take place this year, at such times and places as may be convenient for assembling them. The Tory papers pretended to con- sider this notice as an indication of alarm at the state of the country ; but Lord John Russell has annually, since he came into office in 1835, issued one in precisely similar language.
