by -the eager welcome that Professor Einstein's novel theories have received from the outset. Unlike his ,predecessors in this field of research, he has not had to write for fame. All the scientific world has shown a lively interest in his propositions, and his name is familiar to every instructed , layman. It is pleasant also to find Oxford and the Rhodes Trust according a friendly recep- tion to the eminent German scholar. Such courtesies make for the sweetening of relations between the peoples and help bitter memories to, fade.
