A MEMORIAL TO DR. PERCIVAL.

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] Sut,—May I ask the favour of a few lines in. your columns to inform your readers that a fund is being raised in the Hereford diocese for the purpose of establishing a memorial to the late John Percival, D.D., the first Head-Master of Clifton College, afterwards successively President of Trinity College, Oxford, Head-Master of Rugby School, and from 1895 to 1917 Bishop of Hereford ?

It has been resolved by the Committee to whom the execution of the project has been entrusted that the memorial shall take the form of, or at the least include, some repre- sentation of Bishop Percival's features suitable to be placed in the Cathedral Church of Hereford. It is thought that many people outside the diocese may wish to be associated with the scheme. Subscriptions may be sent to myself or to Canon Bannister, Secretary of the Committee, at "The Cathedral Close, Hereford," or direct to "The Bishop Percival Memorial Fund" at the National Provincial and Union Bank of England, Hereford.—I am, Sir, &c.,
