The resignation of Mr. George Murray, the Premier of Nova
Scotia, is of more than local interest, for he had held the office without a break since 1896. Mr. Murray won six General Elections, and his Premiership of nearly twenty-seven years is believed to be the longest on record. What a Utopia Nova Scotia must seem to the many European ex-Premiers whose terms of office lasted only a year or two at most.
