The 1992 Shiva Naipaul prize for travel writing has not

been awarded. This is because, although the number of submis- sions was high — 150 entries were received — the quality was low and none of the entries was thought to be publishable. In due course we shall be advertising the 1993 Shiva Naipaul prize.
