Lone Scar Blockhouse. By F. B. Forester. (S.P.C.K. as.)—This is
a story of life on the prairie. The characters and the incidents are, we may say, familiar, but they are put in a fresh setting, and are fairly effective. The lad who goes by the nickname of the " Seraph " is more of a novelty, and centributes considerably to the general success of the tale. Surely he need not have been made so hideous as he looks in the frontispiece !
