There is no special news from the Soudan except that
the Sirdar has sent the North Staffordshire Regiment to Cairo, and has also sent one of his black regiments down the river. This is an almost conclusive proof that the operations are suspended for the present, and that there is to be no rush to seize Khartoum. Meantime the gunboats are patrolling the river and snapping up fugitives. They only missed capturing Bishara himself by a few minutes. The Sirdar is also making a strong camp near Dongola, where the force will be able to hold its own against all comers.
