Messrs. Graves have on view, in Pall Mall, Lucas's full-length

portrait of the late Sir W. Peel, leading on his Naval Brigade at one of the Indian campaigns. The likeness is excellent and striking, but the figure hardly seems tall enough: it is, however, a worthy memorial of one fit to keep company with Horatio Nelson, Sir C. Eastlake's painting of the Sisters and one of Berghem's rural land- scapes furnish engravings for this month's Art Journal. "Rome and her works of Art. Part II. Michel Angelo," is a readable paper amply illus- trated. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Hall's agreeable narrative of Excur- sions in South Wales are artististic reminiscences of the choicest localities, two of which, Pembroke Castle and Lamphey Palace, by Mr. Birket Foster, especially deserve attention.
