LTO THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR,"]
SID,—In reading the article in the Spectator of February 25th on "The Wisdom of Children," I was reminded of an answer
given to one of my daughters at Sunday-school. The lesson was on the dispersion of the Christians which followed the martyrdom of Stephen: "they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word" (Acts viii 4). My daughter asked, if they had not been thus scattered abroad, what might have been the consequence to us. Answer : "Please, teacher, we should all have been blacks" (i.e., heathen?) This is absolutely accurate.—I am, Sir, Szc.,
GEO. CHRYSTIE.
