The Norwegian settlement has advanced two more steps, the Storthing

having rejected the proposal to submit the question of Monarchy or Republic to a plebiscite by 86 votes to 30. The offer of the throne to Prince Charles of Denmark was then authorised by 87 votes to 29, and the selection will at once be submitted by Referendum to the people, who, it is believed, will confirm it by a heavy majority.
