The Neva, Captain Peck, with female convicts for New South
Wales, was totally lost, on King Island, in Bass Straits, about the beginning of May; and of 241 people on board, only the Captain, Chief Mate, seven seamen, and six convicts, were saved. The Neva sailed from the Downs on the 11th December, in company with the unfortunate George the Third, whose loss, with a great number of male convicts, was lately announced.
