:WALKING IN CIRCLES [To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] Sia,—Walking
in a circle when lost is not confined to adults. In 1900 at Cue, Murchiston, Western Australia, a picnic was given to the schoolchildren. Owing to exceptional rains the grass and everlasting flowers were waist high. In the evening, when the children were collected, it was found that the daughter of the local Member of the Legislative Assembly, aged about five, was missing. The child was found the following morning, having been traced by black trackers, not far from the picnic spot. She had wandered in nearly a complete right-hand circle during the moonlight night.—I am, Sir, &c., LEONARD MUNN.
