Mr. Gideon Hatchwell, station-master at Bury, on the Eastern Union
Rail- way, and Mr. James Cousins Welton' station-master at Thurston, on the same line, lost their lives yesterday, by an accident on their railway. They were conducting an irregular train, both of them seated on the luggage at a height which raised their heads above the top of the engine funnel ; and in passing under a bridge both of them were struck dead by the crown of the arch.
