The iris spreads its purple wings, Great paeonies then open wide To show their golden hearts inside."
Though some of the illustrations are not well chosen for colour reproduction, others, such as "A Typhoon" and "Snow," please from the soberness of their colouring. They are all loosely mounted on dark green paper.
