Ants of the Privy Council : Colonial Series, 1618-1680. Edited
by W. L. Grant, M.A., and James Munro, M.A. (H.M. Stationery Office. 10s.)—The West Indies, Virginia, Newfoundland, are prominent among the Colonies referred to in these Acts—the Privy Council, it will be remembered, was an executive body in those days—and among the subjects dealt with is the growing of tobacco, which was deliberately suppressed in England in favour of the Colonies.
