Lord Grey's amendment to the Address, on the strictly Consti-
tutional ground, that Parliament ought to have been earlier con- sulted as to this war,—was supported in an almost inaudible speech, and was not pressed to a division. Lord Beaconsfield went into heroics about the achievements of the Army, but did not say anything memorable,—even in the nature of a sneer.
