Not only England

Sir: Your otherwise excellent publication has been marred in the last two issues by your insistence on using 'England' when of course you should be talking about 'Great Britain'. Not only England, but Scotland, and therefore Great Britain has 'become and has remained a low wage economy' and we, in Scotland, hope that Mrs Thatcher and her colleagues will think long and hard about how Great Britain (not just Scotland)'s and Europe's security is to be based in the post-SALT era.

Having defeated Nationalism on 1 March, 3 May and 7 June, please do not give our opponents an opportunity to claim that the Conservative Party is predominantly an English party, Dalziel Conservative Member of the European Parliament, 19 Newington Road, Edinburgh
