Sir John Moore at Shorncliffe :- To commemorate

a great soldier

SIR JOHN MOORE, who fell at the moment of victory on the field of Corunna, one of the noblest of fighting men, and as the trainer of those he led unsurpassable, perhaps never equalled, this memorial stone is set up, by his ever-grateful countrymen. June, 1913.
