Mr. Basil Mathews The newly-created American Professorship of Missions at
Boston has been accepted by Mr. Basil Mathews, the well-known missionary who is the author of the Clash of Colour and similar works. Recently he has been working at Geneva for the international Y.M.C.A. The Manchester Guardian says that he has made it a con- dition that he shall spend only four months a year in Boston, as he must be free to continue his present work from his London headquarters and also to fulfil his numerous engagements all over the world. There could not possibly be a better appointment for the new Chair. * *
