`That Summer'
SIR,—In his review of Collected Stories by Frank Sargeson, in your issue of April 23, Mr. Norman Levine says that he remembered reading the 'centre piece' of the volume, a story called 'That Summer,' some years ago in New Writing.
His memory is not at fault, but I may be for- given perhaps for pointing out that my firm, John Lehmann Ltd., subsequently published a volume of short stories by Mr. Sargeson with the title of That Summer. All the twenty-one pieces in my edition have been absorbed into Collected Stories without any acknowledgement of the fact by Messrs. Ma.cGibbon & Kee. John Lehmann Ltd. also pub- lished Mr. Sargeson's first novel, I Saw in my Dream.
