A little volume of Selections from Whittier (Routledge and Sons)

may be briefly commended to our readers. Whittier lends himself to selection, for he wrote much that was addressed to temporary wants, and that, the occasion past, is of but little value. But there are some very good things in him, and it is convenient to have them put together.
