On Wednesday took place the fifth raid. According to the
official notice issued on Thursday and published in the evening papers of that day, "a Zeppelin attacked the North-East Coast about 9.50 p.m.," and was driven off by the fire of the a.nti-aireraft guns. Some bombs were dropped, but apparently no damage was done. It is very satisfactory to note the greatly improved tone with which the public receive the visits of the raiders. There never was any- thing approaching panic, only a certain anxiousness, and now even that has given way to contempt.
