VINDICATION. By Stephen McKenna. (Hutchinson. 7s. 6d. net.)

This is a thoroughly unpleasant book, and it will seem to the reader that it is impossible to vindicate any one of the characters of the drama. The peculiar Social Circle described by Mr. McKenna is the same as ever, only a little more so ; and the impression left on the mind of the reader will be thankfulness that he is not obliged to associate with any of the personages described.
