Sir: Ordinary policemen share Andrew Gilligan’s concern (‘Tony’s coppers’, 16 April). They are dismayed at what has happened and they have little regard for their leaders, who are referred to as ‘seagulls’: they never stay in one place for long and crap on those beneath them.
