SPECTATOR COMPETITION No. 176

Set by Guy Kendall Readers are asked to imagine that they have been appointed by the B.B.C. as commentators on outside events. The usual prizes are offered for the first 200 words of a commentary on one of the following: ,a University examination (written or viva voce); the scene outside a hospital when a patient is discharged to find, not an ambulance, but a Black Maria waiting for him; the opening of a bridge match betweett. England and a foreign country; a press conference with sonic public person; a new Mayor taking his seat.

Entries must be addressed to the Spectator, 99 Gower Street, London, W.C.1, in envelopes marked "Competition," and must be received not later than July 8th. Results will be printed in the Spectator of July 17th.
