A move to the Orthodox?

From Dr Tim Hudson Sir: I think Digby Anderson may be in the wrong Church (`Go to work on Christmas Day... ', 13/20 December). For the Orthodox, 6 January has much more importance than for the Western Church, though to them it represents the manifestation of Our Lord's divinity at his baptism rather than his showing as a child to the Gentiles. The Blessing of Waters that accompanies it, spectacularly for instance at Piraeus harbour, would satisfy Mr Anderson's craving for colourful ceremonies, and could easily be performed in the family swimming pool.

On the other hand, were he to join the Russians he would find they don't celebrate Christmas itself until 7 January. Planning suitable food and drink for the feast might be a problem here, but Smirnoff Black Label vodka with blinis would certainly be a good start.
