The Admiralty have announced that the German submarine II18 '

was reported on the northern coast of Scotland on Monday and was rammed by a British patrol vessel. The submarine disappeared for an hour, and was then seen on the surface flying the white flag. Before she could be reached she foundered, but the destroyer Garry' saved all but one of her crew. The 1318' was one of the largest and latest German submarines. In the papers of Tuesday it was also announced that the German destroyer S124' had been injured in a collision and had been beached.
