SIR,—There is no parallel between the Balfour Declaration and Shylock's Bond: In the Bond Antonio signed away a pound of his own flesh, whereas in the Declaration Lord Balfour signed away a pound of an Arab's flesh. Moreover, Shylock's Bond was produced in open court, whereas we have only been allowed to see one-half of the Balfour Agreement, namely, his Declaration.—' am, Sir, &c., J. S.
