Seeing is believing

Sir: Your editorial on changes in abortion law omits the main reason for opposition to reducing the time from 28 weeks (28 October). Few people have had any rela- tionship with a premature baby of that age. I have — and it had the normal reactions of a baby: responding to touch and voice, etc.

Many Germans would have felt stronger about concentration camps if they had actually seen what went on. Enthusiasts for long-term abortion should at least go and see the premature children of the age they would terminate.
