The French Impressionists, by M. Camille Mauclair, in the "Popular

Library of Art" (Duckworth and Co., 2s. 6d.), is a real contribution to the literature of contemporary art. It would be a good thing if people who call every picture in a style unfamiliar to themselves " impressionist " could be made to read this little book.—In this series a volume on Botticelli, by Mrs. Ady, has also appeared.
