MULCHING

Mulching often means the difference between a good crop of beans or peas and a poor one' The application of a mulch in midsummer keeps the soil moist and feeds the plants If an adequate layer of decayed matter is spread. Where a good mulch cannot be provided, lawn, clippings are useful. These should be wet watered to keep the ground moist on hot days.
