SIR,—" What other word," you ask, " is to be

used to denote collectively Christians who are not Roman Catholics ?" Certainly not " Protestant," for this word could hardly be applied to some 200 million Christians in the Orthodox and Lesser Eastern Churches. If a term must be used, " non-Roman Catholics" is often made to serve ; but is it not better to avoid a term that puts Roman Catholics on one side of a fence and other Christians on the other side ?—Yours faithfully, IVOR THOMAS.
