rrHE l hurch crisis haS been Very prominent since we 1 last wrote. Not only has there been the meeting of the Bishops at Lambeth, but the Church Congress has reflected a manifold anxiety. The Lambeth meeting ended on Thursday;:-..September 27th; and an -extremely important announcement was made afterwards. The Bishops' policy is to make available for use the revised Prayer Book of 1928. Having_in_view the approval given to that book by the Houses of Convocation and the Church Assembly; they cannot regard its-Use as inebuti§tent with loyalty to the Church of England. But for precisely the same reason they must regard as inconsistent with loyalty the use of deviations from or additions to the existing Prayer Book (the Book of 1662) which are not contained in the 1928 revision. No departure from the Book of 1662, however, will be permitted unless the members of a parish, as represented in the Parochial Church Council, are in agreement with the inetiniberit. • • •
