How to Become a Private Secretary. By Arthur Sheppard. (T.

Fisher Unwin. ls.)—Mr. Sheppard subdivides his subjects into" Qualifications," "Training," "Work." This indicates that the title does not exactly describe the contents of the book. As to the way of becoming a private secretary there is little to be said. He is born, not made. But as to how he should do his work there is much room for advice; and this Mr. Sheppard gives to good purpose.
