READABLE NovaLs.--The Actress. By Louise Closser Hale. (A. Constable and
Co. (ls.)-1 story told in the first person by the heroine, who is an American. She is an ingenuous and attractive young lady, and though her struggle between her art and her love is not original, it is brightly told.—Ashes of Passion. By Mrs. Coulson Kernahan. (John Long. 6s.)—A rather morbid modern novel with an absolutely heartless heroine. —Peter-Peter. By Maude Radford Warren.
