This is not true: you will find upon in- quiry, that Sir .1loirs; llonnousc has recently abolished the office of Assistant- Secretary, wheteby a saving will be made ultimately of 1200/. per annum : and the late Act having appointed an additional Secretary instead of a Commis- sioner, which made a saving of 5001. per annum, the efficiency of the (Alice will, it is hoped, be still maintained. Sir JOHN HOB/MUSE has also appointed the son of RA313101ICN for to a Clerkship in the office ; so that it is not his fault if the example is not given of doing away with the aristocracy of colour.
