We have received the first instalment of The Old Testament
in Greek, Edited by Alan England Brooke, B.D., and Norman Maclean, M.A. (Cambridge University Press, '75. Gd. net). It is to give the text of the "Codex Vaticanus " of the Septuagint, with variants from other Uncial MSS. and the other authorities for the Septuagint text. Genesis—Ruth are to be included in Vol. I., of which Part I. (the first of four), containing Genesis, is now before us. We hope to be able to return to it at some future time. Meanwhile we may say that it is an obvious improvement, at least on the edition which we happen to have at hand, in point of accentuation and punctuation.
